What's For Dinner?

We are Aldi shoppers (saving hundreds per month). I do have some items on hand that I have purchased from other sources, like our alternative flours. If you know me well, you know that I do not enjoy cooking. I would rather wash dishes than cook. I know, it’s crazy. I do well cooking chicken in bunches and using it multiple ways. I do enjoy soups, so you may notice 2 on the menu this week. I can sneak beans and veggies in and my kids don’t notice the extras.

I am typing out my meal plan for the week while my husband runs to the store after work (I know, I’m spoiled in that way), and I figured I might as well share it here. Plus, bonus, when my 5 year old colors on my list of recipes and ingredients, I have a copy here! Our family is not adventurous with food, so we stick to pretty basic items throughout the week. This is not an all-inclusive list, but a jumping off point if you’re looking for a few new ideas. It is a gallery, so just click on the image to go to the specific website for the recipes

Do you have a favorite recipe for a novice like me? I’d love for you to share it in the comments!

Calling Out God's Gifts in One Another, and Living Them Out

Calling Out God's Gifts in One Another, and Living Them Out

This afternoon I had the pleasure of sitting in the home of a friend, amongst a table of women where we named our gifts, and spoke the gifts we saw in one another. For so long I tried to hide the gifts God gave me out of fear of being misunderstood.

We joyfully recalled the moments that we moved forward in what God asks of us, confidence found in Christ, and my heart swelled in my chest, praising God.

It was beautiful.

Conversation Series: Perfection v. Messy (& 10 cleaning sanity tips and tricks)

Dishes stack in the sink, a junk drawer spills onto the floor, and I slide down head between my hands. My chest tightens, my breaths get quicker, and anxiousness tries to settle again. I love the reason for the mess, it represents life, joy, family, and friends; however being surrounded by it alerts my nerves and I am a puddle of anxiety.

From this place of honesty, I have been working on this.

SO HOW DO WE HANDLE THIS NEED FOR SPACE AND ORDERLINESS IN THE MIDST OF A JOY-FILLED MESSY LIFE?
